Illinois’ tax deed auctions are held on a county-by-county basis across a wide span of the year; most occur in October and November, though Cook County – the largest, by far – occurs in May. Data typically becomes available for access in DigiPan the month before the auction. In 2017, 14,132 Illinois certificates were listed in the platform, with a total face value of $72 million and a total assessed value of $287.34 million. All three numbers are expected to rise dramatically in 2018.
